Thanks for the add, if i were to judge by its name i'd say. Really good episodic megawad, really inmersive and atmospheric, with new weapons and new monsters. The mapsets i recommend, on the other hand, are for, and can only be played on GZDoom (some on the old ZDoom). GZDoom is compatible, but those mapset are not designed specifically for GZDoom Thus they need a Boom/MBF compatible port, at least to be played. Those are not vanilla at all, MBF is not vanilla, its Boom enhanced. Same Ancient Aliens, by the same author: Skillsaw It was nice, though, and the level had good design, so i didn't mind trying it out.but at the switch outside by the two doors when all hell broke loose and i ran from one ambush to another i realized i can't survive it with my skill level haha! It seemed like the monsters were faster and even the projectiles.Ībout Valiant, its a PrBoom+/MBF compatible project with dehacked for weapons and monsters. I actually tried Valiant first since it was first recommendation, and thought it wasn't vanilla cause of the modifications? But yes, i guess those can just be added/modified even in vanilla (am a bit new to this technical stuff). Many thanks for your recommendations! Love horror stuff in general, and they seem very atmospheric from the pictures! If you are into the survival horror, check Soundless Mound, a tribute to Silent Hill but in Doom.Īnd Solace Dreams, a voxel heavy mod that is trippy and mind fucking.
#Gzdoom iwad how to
Its a totally new experience, more in line with strategic FPS where you have to take cover, and think how to approach the different situations.īut it also offers some scary and survival horror moments.Įxcellent story, and excellent experience. The orther one is one of my favourites: Cold As Hell. Really inmersive and challenging for sure. I thought the OP was asking for proper GZDoom base port mapsets.Īs for me, i recommend checking Unloved, a really good mapset kinda Doom meets Silent Hill meets Hexen. The only ZDoom base port feature it has is the Episode Selection Screen.
